Inspired Photographer - Eugene Atget

Eugène Atget (February 12, 1857 – August 4, 1927) was a French photographer noted for his photographs documenting the architecture and street scenes of Paris.
He was more interested in the dark and sooty corners of the old city.
He made thousands of images that recreate the visual past of the great cities.
In my opinion, I really like the way he took photos. His quiet street and the look of ancient inspired me a lot.

Mt Victoria - Wellington Town Belt

I went to this Mt Vitoria - Wellington Town Belt and it gave me the advanterous feeling that impressed me a lot.  The atmosphere around was so quiet, wet and cold. All the pathways from widest to narrowest covered with trees and grass around that I can't even see where was the lead/the other end of the pathways. It is very interesting when you try to discover something that you could not guess or expect what would be in front of you. You could even meet the cliff without a notice. So as for my contact sheet for the first shoot photos, I was trying to so the mysterious of how the pathways fade away because of the trees cover plus the cold and wet feeling when you in the middle of the space.

Quarry

While out for a drive one day we came across a quarry and I was impressed by its wild and rugged look.  I took some photos to try to illustrate the harsh, rocky nature of the place.

SilverStream Railway

One day I visited the Silverstream Railway Museum in Upper Hutt; I found the early New Zealand railway station very interesting because this is a working museum which makes the station feel alive and not just a static display which is often the case with museum exhibits.  In my photos I have tried to capture some of the old time, living atmosphere of the place

Panorama - Exercise 1

I was interested in the Quarry near Ngauranga because of its rocky, quiet and rugged. Therefore I picked this place to take some photos for my panorama task. The weather was great when I took these photos so it is easy to shoot. While joining these together I had a bit difficulty when using "clone stamp" tool to erase the bad marks. Other parts was done well. Beside, by the end I have some small problems to use automate photomerge but did understand how to fix it after.

Inspired Photographer - Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams is one of the most respected names in photography. During his lifetime he produced hundreds of images that became familiar across the world, as tributes to the epic landscapes of North America.
Having developed a comprehensive knowledge of the photographic process, and experimented a good deal with technique and style, it was in 1927 that Ansel Adams felt fit to declare:
- My photographs have now reached a stage when they are worthy of the world's critical examination.

This examination bore very positive early reviews after a debut solo exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution in 1931. His images, taken in the High Sierra, expressed a sense of awe for the expanse and scale of the mountainous landscapes that he would become famous for capturing.
I really like his natural shoot of landscape.
